Condemnation of Terrorism:
The Forum, which saw participation from 10 BRICS nations along with several partner countries, came together to strongly condemn the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that resulted in 26 fatalities. The joint declaration emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, the need for improved intelligence sharing, and cutting off financial resources to terrorist organizations.
India’s Leadership Recognized:
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who led the Indian delegation, received praise for his decisive stance on counter-terrorism and for promoting a united front among BRICS nations against terror. The final declaration highlighted India’s approach of responding firmly to terrorist attacks.
Focus on Artificial Intelligence:
The theme of responsible and inclusive AI was a major focus. India shared its vision of AI as a fusion of ancient civilizational values and contemporary innovation, stressing the importance of human-centric, equitable, and justice-oriented technology deployment across various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, and education.

Bilateral Engagements:
On the sidelines, Om Birla met with Iran’s Speaker to discuss enhanced connectivity via the Chabahar Port and regional cooperation, further strengthening India’s diplomatic outreach within BRICS.
