Dadasaheb Bhagat, once an office boy at Infosys, built Doographics—India’s leading Canva alternative for graphic design. Launched amid COVID-19 challenges from a village cattle shed, the platform now boasts over 1 lakh users across India and internationally, offering easy drag-and-drop templates that democratize design access.
Humble Beginnings Inspire Innovative Vision
Dadasaheb Bhagat’s journey from an Infosys office boy earning ₹9,000 a month to CEO and founder of Doographics is nothing short of inspirational. With limited formal education, Bhagat pursued animation and design passionately alongside his job, eventually working with top firms and learning programming skills. A life-altering bike accident motivated him to focus on building reusable digital design assets, giving birth to his first company, Ninthmotion, which served major clients including BBC Studios and 9XM.
Doographics: Democratizing Design for India
In 2019, Bhagat launched Doographics, a web-based graphic design platform similar to Canva. The user-friendly interface allows anyone—from students to professionals—to quickly create social media posts, marketing flyers, videos, and other creative content using thousands of templates, stock images, and icons.
The COVID-19 lockdown forced Bhagat to shift operations to his native village in Beed, Maharashtra. Undeterred by lack of infrastructure, he built a workspace in a hillside cattle shed with 4G connectivity, training local youth and expanding the platform’s reach. Within six months, Doographics had attracted over 10,000 active users primarily from Bangalore, Delhi, Maharashtra, and even abroad in Japan, Australia, and the UK.
