In a landmark move for regional legal cooperation, the Supreme Courts of India and Nepal have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance judicial bonding, ushering in a new era of collaboration, capacity building, and technological advancement between the two judiciaries.

Historic MoU Signed: On April 7, 2025, Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna of India and Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut of Nepal formalized the MoU, inspired by the deep-rooted ties and shared democratic values between the neighboring countries.
Mutual Learning and Exchange: The agreement paves the way for regular exchange of legal knowledge, judicial training programs, and study visits. Judges and court officials will benefit from both short- and long-term academic activities, fostering deeper understanding of each other’s legal systems.
