The Uttar Pradesh state government is initiating a mass-scale financial inclusion initiative at the level of the gram panchayat from July 1, 2025, to September 30 to extend basic banking and insurance facilities to every rural family. It will be for last-mile delivery of flagship central schemes and financial empowerment of the state's most poor citizens.

Key Highlights:

Universal Coverage: The program targets 100% coverage of eligible beneficiaries under programs like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana.

On-Ground Action: Minimum one camp for each gram panchayat for new account opening, re-verification of KYC for inactive Jan Dhan accounts, and registration under pension and insurance products.

District-Level Leadership: District magistrates and officials will lead the initiative, with weekly monitoring and thoughtful plans developed at the district level to enable efficient outreach and monitoring.

Vision: The campaign aligns with the slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" and aims for true financial empowerment and inclusive development in rural Uttar Pradesh.

Prospect: This saturation campaign can transform UP's rural financial inclusion by extending government welfare programs to the last mile and fostering economic resilience at the grassroots level. If done effectively, it can be replicated as a model for other states to attain complete financial inclusion
