In a high-octane innings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) posted a commanding total of 213/5 in their 20 overs, driven by explosive knocks from Virat Kohli and Romario Shepherd. Kohli dazzled with a blistering 62 off just 33 balls, smashing five fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 187.88. He was well supported by young Jacob Bethell, who struck a fluent 55 off 33 deliveries.
However, the real carnage came from Romario Shepherd at the death, as he bludgeoned 53* off just 14 balls, including four sixes and six boundaries, finishing with an astonishing strike rate of 378.57. His late assault ensured RCB crossed the 200-run mark with ease.
Among the bowlers, Khaleel Ahmed endured a nightmare spell, conceding 65 runs in just three overs. Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing three crucial wickets for 36 runs in his full quota.
RCB’s batting effort sets up a steep chase for the opposition, who will need something special to overhaul the 213-run target. With the pitch looking good for batting, an exciting second innings awaits.
