Western Carriers (India) Ltd. (WCIL) has bagged a major ₹2.3 billion (₹230 crore) logistics contract from Vedanta Ltd., marking a significant win in the company’s expansion into high-value, long-term infrastructure partnerships. The four-year contract involves import, domestic, and export material handling at Vedanta’s Jharsuguda plant, one of India’s largest aluminum smelters.
The deal is expected to strengthen WCIL’s foothold in the mining and mineral logistics sector, while also enhancing its revenue visibility. CEO Kanishka Sethia noted that the order “opens avenues for future projects” with Vedanta and other industrial giants. WCIL, which raised ₹492 crore via IPO in September 2024, reported FY24 revenue of ₹1,685 crore and net profit of ₹80.35 crore, reflecting a 12% YoY growth.
