The move aims to enhance Actian’s Data Intelligence platform with AI ‘Data Analyst Agents,’ enabling users to derive instant, context-rich insights through natural language interaction.
HCLSoftware, part of HCLTech, announced its intention to acquire Wobby BV, a Belgium-based AI startup specializing in “AI Data Analyst” agents, to strengthen its Generative AI (GenAI) and analytics offerings. The deal, valued at €4.5 million, will be executed by Actian Germany GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCLTech, and is expected to close by February 2026, pending Belgian FDI approvals.
The acquisition deepens Actian’s Data Intelligence Platform capabilities—bringing users closer to self-service analytics powered by AI-driven, natural language insights. Wobby’s proprietary semantic layer and agentic architecture enable automated workflows, contextual understanding, and real-time analytics, aligning with growing enterprise demand for smarter, GenAI-powered decision tools.
