The curbs are aimed at preventing stampedes, traffic chaos and law-and-order issues as Bengaluru braces for a high-emotion evening around the Chinnaswamy Stadium and across popular viewing zones.

The advisory comes barely a year after a post-title stampede outside the stadium killed several people during RCB’s 2025 celebrations, a tragedy that continues to haunt the city’s policing playbook. With RCB chasing back-to-back titles and excitement at fever pitch, authorities are trying to strike a balance between letting fans enjoy the IPL final and keeping a tight lid on public disorder.

What The Advisory Says

In a detailed note, Bengaluru City Police have barred victory bike rallies, stunt riding, overspeeding, unnecessary honking and road blockages linked to the match, warning of “strict action” against violators. Public celebrations on roads, junctions and other open spaces have been explicitly disallowed once the final result is declared, with officers instructed to disperse crowds that spill onto carriageways. Officials have also banned the bursting of firecrackers and the use of “hazardous materials” during or after the game, citing safety risks and noise concerns in residential pockets.

Curbs On Screens, Sound And Social Media

The crackdown extends to big screens and public screenings. LED walls facing roads cannot be put up without prior permission, and existing outdoor displays have been told not to beam the final in a way that draws large roadside crowds. Malls, pubs and commercial establishments have been asked not to install extra outdoor screens visible from public spaces, effectively confining live viewing to indoor areas. Police have further urged fans not to drink in public, create disturbances, engage in fights or harass rival supporters, and have warned against sharing provocative posts, rumours or hate content on social media that could inflame tempers.
