NRAI Urges Restaurants to Embrace ONDC, Challenging Zomato and Swiggy's 10-Minute Delivery Dominance

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) is urging restaurants to adopt the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as a countermeasure against the rapid 10-minute delivery services offered by Zomato and Swiggy. This strategic shift aims to reduce high commission fees, which can reach up to 30%, compared to ONDC's more favorable rates of 5-7%. By promoting ONDC, NRAI is pushing for the empowerment of restaurateurs and creating a more equitable food delivery ecosystem, with focus on data privacy and competition concerns. This is the biggest step so far in India's food delivery sector in rewriting the rules.
