Philippines Launches Major Tourism Push to Capture Key International Markets

The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) is aggressively expanding its reach in three crucial markets - India, Europe, and the Middle East. The country welcomed 79,000 Indian visitors in 2024, marking a 12.4% growth. To boost these numbers, the DOT is implementing an e-visa system and working on direct flights connecting Indian cities to Manila, Boracay, Clark, and Cebu. The Middle East market has shown promising growth, with a 10% increase in visitors from Gulf countries. Meanwhile, European outreach continues through strategic participation in major travel events. Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco emphasizes the Philippines' diverse offerings, from world-class beaches to cultural experiences, positioning the country as a premier destination for international travelers.
