The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced the empanelment of 20 hospitals and 47 outpatient departments (OPDs) under the integrated Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). This move aims to expand access to affordable, cashless healthcare for eligible citizens across Pune.
In a significant step toward strengthening public health infrastructure, PMC officials confirmed that the empanelment will cover major civic hospitals and maternity homes. The integration of MJPJAY and PMJAY ensures that residents can avail free treatment for a wide range of medical conditions, reducing the financial burden on families.
Hospitals And OPDs Included
The empanelled list features Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Dr Naidu Infectious Disease Hospital, Late Jayabai Nanasaheb Sutar Maternity Home, Rajmata Jijau Maternity Hospital, Dr Kotnis Health Centre, Aundh Kuti Hospital, and Malati Kachi Maternity Home, among others. These facilities will provide cashless treatment under both schemes.
Impact On Citizens
The integration of the two schemes is expected to streamline healthcare delivery, offering seamless access to diagnostics, surgeries, and specialized treatments. By expanding OPD coverage, PMC aims to reduce patient load on tertiary hospitals and improve preventive care.
