Pune Metro Line 3 Gears Up For May Debut, Cutting Commutes In Half

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has indicated that construction work is in its final stages, with trial runs already underway. Once operational, the metro line will significantly improve accessibility for professionals, students, and residents traveling between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar.  

Project Overview  
The Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 spans approximately 23 kilometers and will connect Pune’s bustling IT corridor with the central business district. Developed under a public-private partnership model, the project is being executed by Tata Group and Siemens through Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited.  

Expected Benefits  
The metro line is designed to reduce travel time from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar to under 40 minutes, compared to the current 90–120 minutes by road. With Pune’s traffic density increasing year after year, this metro corridor is expected to provide a sustainable and efficient alternative.
