RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra Meets President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 28, 2025. The President's office posted a photo of the meeting on social media platform X, saying, "Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan."

 

 

Earlier this week, on March 26, Governor Malhotra raised alarms regarding the changing threats of terror financing and money laundering to national and international financial systems. Delivering a speech at the Private Sector Collaborative Forum of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), he pointed out that technological innovations have increased these illegal activities to more sophisticated levels. Malhotra stressed the need to fortify financial systems and improve risk assessment models to fight these issues effectively.

 

The sit-down between Governor Malhotra and President Murmu highlights the cooperative efforts of the RBI and the government in responding to financial security issues and improving the stability of India's financial system.​
