Read, Write, and Roam: Kerala's Literary Tourism Circuit Unveiled

Kerala will be launching India's first literary tourism circuit, the Malabar Literary Tourism Circuit, which will link the northern districts of Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Palakkad. It is a tribute to the literary richness of the area, comprising museums and memorials of celebrated Malayalam writers such as Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and OV Vijayan. The circuit will feature locations such as Thunchan Parambu at Tirur and Beypore at Kozhikode, giving tourists an experience of the environments of classic novels. Kozhikode, newly designated a UNESCO City of Literature, will serve as the focal point of this circuit, which will further enrich Kerala's cultural tourism package.
