Relentlessly Striving Towards Success: IAS Officer's Inspiring Journey

IAS officer Awanish Sharan's inspiring story remains a source of motivation for UPSC aspirants. Sharan, who was born in Bihar, had only 44.7% marks in his 10th class and 65% in 12th. Failing the State PCS prelims 10 times and CDS and CPF exams despite trying, he never gave up. In his second attempt at UPSC, Sharan ranked 77 All India and was made an IAS officer in 2009. Presently serving in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district, he enthusiastically encourages aspirants, stressing that marks do not indicate one's potential. Sharan's journey illustrates that sheer hard work and determination can make even mediocre students spectacularly successful in civil services.
