Republic Day 2025: 942 Police and Fire Personnel Awardees of Gallantry and Service Medals

The Indian government has declared a total of 942 gallantry and service medals for police, fire, home guard, and civil defence on the eve of Republic Day 2025, as a testament to the power of courage and commitment. Those include 95 Medals for Gallantry, 101 President's Medals for Distinguished Service, and 746 Medals for Meritorious Service. Such awards go out to officers thwarting attacks in Jammu and Kashmir as well as those in combat with Left Wing Extremism. This recognition marks the unrelenting efforts of India's security forces in protecting the country.
