RIL's Reliance New Energy Battery Secures 10 GWh Capacity in ACC PLI Scheme

 

Reliance New Energy Battery Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has been awarded a 10 gigawatt-hour (GWh) capacity under India's ₹18,100 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage. The agreement, signed on February 17, 2025, follows a competitive global tender process. This allocation brings the total awarded capacity to 40 GWh out of the scheme's 50 GWh target. The PLI ACC scheme aims to boost domestic battery manufacturing for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage, while ensuring global cost competitiveness. Reliance Industries' shares showed mixed reactions, initially dipping before recovering slightly on the news.
