Rising to the Challenge: Global Leaders Unite to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases

On January 30, 2025, World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Day highlighted the urgent need for global action against NTDs, which affect over 1 billion people worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasized a unified approach to eliminate these diseases, advocating for increased investments, enhanced data systems, and community engagement. Despite progress in some areas, significant challenges remain, particularly in regions like India, where multiple NTDs continue to pose health risks. The campaign aims to empower communities and strengthen health systems for sustainable solutions.
