Shiva's Legacy Lives On: PM Modi's Mission to Restore Ancient Temples

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's devotion to India's religious heritage is apparent through the large-scale restoration efforts of prominent Lord Shiva temples throughout the nation. Since 2014, Modi has been leading major projects such as the rebuilding of Kedarnath Temple after the 2013 floods, construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor at Varanasi, and the enlargement of the Mahakaleshwar Temple complex at Ujjain. These projects have not only made the temples resplendent again but also increased facilities for pilgrims. The Kashi Vishwanath development enlarged the temple complex from 3,000 to 500,000 square feet, whereas the Mahakal Lok Corridor elevated the grounds from 3 to 47 hectares. Moreover, Gujarat's Somnath Temple and Uttarakhand's Jageshwar Dham have seen considerable overhauls, enhancing accessibility as well as preserving their heritage status. These improvements highlight Modi's commitment to preserving India's religious heritage while providing such sacred centers easier access to pilgrims globally.
