Shyam Benegal’s Iconic Film ‘Manthan’ to Screen at Academy Museum in LA

Shyam Benegal's 1976 classic "Manthan" will be screened at the prestigious Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on March 10, 2025. The classic film is part of a curated collection of twelve Indian classics titled "Emotion in Colour: A Kaleidoscope of Indian Cinema." Incidentally, "Manthan" was the world's first crowdfunded feature film, financed by half a million Gujarat dairy farmers. It highlights India's revolutionary milk cooperative movement led by Dr. Verghese Kurien and has been restored in 4K for the event.
