India’s space agency ISRO is gearing up for the launch of its heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, aboard the powerful LVM3-M5 rocket. Scheduled for liftoff on November 2, this mission marks a major milestone in India’s space communication capabilities.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has officially moved its LVM3-M5 launch vehicle to the pad at Sriharikota, ahead of its November 2 liftoff. The rocket will carry CMS-03, a 4,400 kg multi-band communication satellite designed to enhance coverage across the Indian landmass and surrounding oceanic regions. This marks the fifth operational flight of LVM3, India’s most powerful launch vehicle, which previously carried the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission. CMS-03 will be placed into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO), making it the heaviest communication satellite ever launched from Indian soil.
