Spring’s First Full Moon: The Pink Micromoon Graces the Heavens Tonight

The Pink Moon, the first full moon of spring, will be gracing the night skies tonight, April 12, 2025. Not to be confused with its name, the moon won't actually appear pink; it is simply being named after the early blooming pink wildflowers, like phlox, which represent the return of spring. This year's Pink Moon is a special micromoon, appearing smaller and fainter as it is in its farthest distance from our planet. Sky gazers around India can witness this event in the early morning hours of Sunday.

 

Date and Time: The Pink Moon is going to be at its maximum brightness at 8:22 PM EDT on April 12, 2025, which will be equivalent to 5:00 AM IST on April 13 in India.
