Sprouting Change: HDFC Bank's Parivartan Initiative Irrigates 2 Lakh Acres

HDFC Bank's CSR program, Parivartan, has successfully brought 2 lakh acres of unirrigated land under irrigation, marking a significant milestone in rural development. This achievement, announced on March 21, 2025, aims to enhance water access for farmers and mitigate water scarcity. The bank has implemented innovative solutions such as drone-based irrigation and Ice Stupas in Ladakh to combat climate change effects.

In addition to irrigation efforts, HDFC Bank plans to boost the income of 5 lakh marginal farmers earning less than Rs 60,000 annually by 2025. The initiative also includes providing scholarships to 25,000 meritorious underprivileged students and imparting skill training to nearly 2 lakh individuals.

With a CSR expenditure of over Rs 5,100 crore in the last decade, Parivartan has grown into one of India's largest CSR programs, active in 28 states and 8 Union Territories. The bank remains committed to sustainable development and positive change at the grassroots level.
