Sterling Tools Partners with China’s Landworld to Scale EV Component Manufacturing, Targets ₹4.5 Billion Revenue by FY30

Sterling Tools Ltd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sterling Gtake E-Mobility (SGEM), has entered into a strategic partnership with China’s Landworld to manufacture advanced EV components in India. Announced today, September 15, 2025, the collaboration is aimed at localizing production of magnetic components such as EMI filters, transformers, and common mode chokes, which are critical to electric and hybrid vehicle platforms. The alliance is expected to generate ₹4.5 billion in revenue by FY30, marking a major leap in Sterling’s EV growth strategy.

Sterling Gtake, already a leading manufacturer of Motor Control Units (MCUs) with an installed capacity of 720,000 units per annum, is now expanding its portfolio to include power electronics and electrical components. The partnership with Landworld is expected to reduce India’s dependence on imported magnetic components, which are currently sourced from East Asia and Europe.

 

The new product line will cater to OEMs across multiple vehicle categories, supporting India’s push for EV adoption under FAME III and the National Electric Mobility Mission. Sterling’s EV campus in Faridabad will serve as the hub for this initiative, with plans to install Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines and automated testing systems to meet global quality standards.

 

Jaideep Wadhwa, Managing Director of Sterling Gtake, stated, “This partnership is a strategic extension of our commitment to build a full-stack EV component ecosystem in India. With Landworld’s technical depth and our manufacturing agility, we aim to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions to Indian and global OEMs.”

 

The collaboration also aligns with Sterling’s broader strategy to create three verticals—Fasteners, Power Electronics & Powertrain, and Electrical Components—each contributing to its EV ambitions. The company has invested ₹28 crore last fiscal and plans to match that investment this year to support capacity expansion and R&D.

 

Industry analysts view this move as a timely response to the rising demand for localized EV supply chains, especially as India’s EV market is projected to exceed ₹15,000 crore by the end of the decade. The partnership with Landworld is expected to unlock new export opportunities and strengthen Sterling’s position as a comprehensive EV solutions provider.
