Sterlite Power Energizes Northeast with 400kV Transmission Line

Sterlite Power has successfully commissioned the 123-km Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon transmission line, boosting power infrastructure in India's Northeast. The 400kV double-circuit line connects Assam and Meghalaya, enabling seamless transfer of over 1000 MW of electricity. The project includes a greenfield 220/132kV substation at Nangalbibra with 2x160 MVA capacity, expandable to 400kV. Spanning approximately 300 circuit kilometers, this inter-state transmission system strengthens the regional grid, improves reliability, and supports future load growth. Arun Sharma, CEO of Sterlite Power's Infrastructure Business, emphasized the project's role in bridging power gaps and driving economic development in the region.
