Suryoday Bank Posts Steady Q1 Amid Asset Quality Concerns

Suryoday Small Finance Bank has announced its June quarter numbers as of June 30, 2025, with a mixed story of strong growth in revenues but continued pressure on asset quality.

Performance Overview

Interest income increased to 4.95 billion rupees, representing steady pace in core lending activities.

Net profit was 352.8 million rupees, a robust bounce back from the previous quarter loss, supported by improved operating margins and lower provisioning.

Total revenues rose to 6.04 billion rupees because of a year-on-year increase in other income and treasury gains.

Asset Quality Snapshot

Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) increased to 8.46 percent from 7.2 percent in the March quarter, showing persistent stress in unsecured lending segments.

Net NPA rose to 5.64 percent, reflecting high credit risk in spite of the CGFMU cover.

NPA provisioning was moderated due to partial guarantee coverage, and the bank also had prudent provisioning cushions.
