Suzuki Shifts Gears: New Indian Plant Revs Up 50% Market Share Ambition

Suzuki Motor Corporation has commissioned its new plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, as a big step towards cornering 50% of India's domestic automobile market. The plant, Maruti Suzuki's first new facility in eight years, increases the company's yearly production capacity to 2.6 million vehicles. Beginning with the Brezza compact SUV, the plant will ultimately have four production lines, each with the capacity to manufacture 250,000 vehicles every year. This addition is part of Suzuki's vision to position India as its biggest worldwide production center with an ultimate goal of producing 4 million vehicles annually by 2030.
