Telecom Titan Knighted: Sunil Bharti Mittal Receives Prestigious KBE Honor

On February 22, 2025, Sunil Bharti Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, was awarded the KBE, joining the ranks of others in the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. The honor is one of the highest recognition awarded by King Charles III to an individual for his contribution to the UK-India business relationship. The KBE medal was conferred on Mittal by British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron during a special ceremony in New Delhi in recognition of Mittal's investments in the UK and efforts in building further bilateral economic ties. Mittal expressed gratitude for the recognition; he reaffirmed his commitment to the advancement of business on the India-UK front and called the honor a privilege as well as a duty.
