Tesla Hits the Accelerator in India with 4000 sq ft showroom in BKC

Tesla has marked its entry into the Indian market by leasing a 4,000-square-foot space in Mumbai’s prestigious Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) for its first showroom. The five-year lease, starting from February 16, 2025, is valued at approximately $446,000 for the first year, with a 5% annual increase. Located within the Maker Maxity building, the showroom is set to become Tesla's business flagships in India, which will be retailing imported electric vehicles to cope with the surging demand for high-end electric vehicles.

This strategic move follows on the back of a top-level interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Elon Musk, indicating the seriousness of Tesla in the Indian market. The showroom is set to precede any future production plans for India.
