The Future of Health: India's Surveillance System Sets the Pace

Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel has pointed to India's digital disease surveillance system as a worthwhile example for other nations looking to develop their public health infrastructure. The statement came on the occasion of the QUAD Workshop on Pandemic Preparedness for the Indo-Pacific Region. India's system uses technology to enhance access to and outcomes in health, developing sustainable and evidence-based systems. Pillar initiatives consist of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), National One Health Programme, and digital technologies such as the CoWIN and eSanjeevani. India has a strong commitment towards making its digital public infrastructures available across the world, and especially to those nations in the Global South, with a view to promoting novel healthcare strategies. The nation has also committed notable economic assistance towards international pandemic readiness efforts.
