The Grass Isn't Always Greener: Migration to New Zealand Plummets

India, the Philippines, and China accounted for two-thirds of the decrease in non-New Zealand citizen migration. Despite the fall, the overall net migration gain in 2024 was just below the pre-pandemic long-term average of 29,100.
