The Shift is Real: Tier 2 & 3 Cities Capture 44% of Land Acquisitions

A recent report by CREDAI-Liases Foras shows that Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities contributed to 44% of the 3,294 acres of land purchased by builders in 2024. This indicates the increasing significance of budding urban hubs in the Indian real estate market. Cities such as Lucknow and Jaipur are spearheading this movement, with large development schemes in progress. In Lucknow, there are plans underway for a huge 6,000-acre township in the vicinity of Bakshi Ka Talab, while Jaipur is on a roll with investments. The activity in land buying in these cities is fueled by affordability, better infrastructure, and burgeoning commercial opportunities, and hence, they are showing interest to end-users as well as investors.
