TN Budget 2025: Caring for the Elderly, Empowering the Young
Large budgetary allocations have been provided in the Tamil Nadu Budget 2025 for the well-being of weaker sections of society. A total of 25 Anbucholai centers will be opened in key municipal corporations such as Madurai, Coimbatore, and Chennai with a budgetary provision of Rs 10 crore. The centers will offer day-care services, medical services, and recreational activities to elderly people living alone.
Also, the budget allocates a stipend of Rs 2,000 to orphaned children for educating them up to 18 years of age. This is under the Thayumanavar Thittam scheme for extending sustained financial and educational benefits to around 50,000 poorest families.
The budget also focuses on improving security for women and incorporates transgenders in social security schemes.
