Tom Banton Replaces Injured Bethell for ICC Champions Trophy

England has named Tom Banton as Jacob Bethell's replacement for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Bethell, sidelined with a left hamstring injury sustained during the India ODI series, has been ruled out of the marquee tournament. Banton, who last played for England in August 2020, is in stellar form, leading the UAE ILT20 scoring charts with 493 runs at an average of 54.77. The 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter will also feature in England's final ODI against India on February 12 in Ahmedabad before joining the Champions Trophy squad. England begins their campaign on February 22 against Australia.
