Vodafone Idea's 5G Revolution: Mumbai Launch in March, Four More Cities to Follow

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is set to shake up India's telecom landscape with its 5G rollout, starting in Mumbai this March. The company plans to expand to Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, and Patna in April 2025. This move marks Vi's entry into the 5G arena, joining competitors Jio and Airtel. Vi has been rapidly expanding its 4G coverage, reaching 1.07 billion people by December 2024. The telco aims to achieve 1.1 billion 4G population coverage by March 2025, with plans to further increase to 1.2 billion. This strategic rollout positions Vi to compete more effectively in India's evolving telecom market.
