Weaving a New Era: India's Quest to Dominate the World Textile Market

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a comprehensive vision to increase India's textile exports from ₹3 lakh crore to ₹9 lakh crore by 2030 at the Bharat-Tex 2025 in New Delhi. The government will make the sector stronger through programmes such as 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local', emphasizing innovation, technological upgradation, and sustainability. With a strategic focus on technical textiles and production of synthetic fibers, India is gearing up to compete with large exporters such as China and Bangladesh. The textile sector, already a major GDP and employment contributor in India, is poised to generate 50 lakh new jobs and propel economic growth in the years to come.
