West Bengal Unveils ₹3.89 Lakh Crore Budget: Big Boost for Infrastructure & Welfare

West Bengal Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya unveiled a ₹3.89 lakh crore budget for 2025-26, prioritizing infrastructure, agriculture, and welfare. Key highlights include ₹1,500 crore for rural roads, ₹500 crore for a new Ganga bridge, and ₹9,600 crore for the ‘Banglar Bari’ housing project. A 4% DA hike for state employees was also announced. The state recorded 6.8% GSDP growth in 2024-25, surpassing the national average. This budget, ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, aims to boost economic growth and public welfare.
