In a classroom in Nashik, Maharashtra, a 16-year-old does something that would send most of us reaching for a calculator: he adds a hundred four-digit numbers, in his head, in under 31 seconds. No paper. No gadgets. Just a brain that's been trained, sharpened, and pushed to its limits since he was six years old.

A Prodigy in the Making

Born on July 6, 2010, Aaryan is a student at Delhi Public School in Nashik. His story doesn't begin with trophies or headlines; it begins with a six-year-old who simply had an unusual fascination with numbers. What started as curiosity quickly turned into something extraordinary. Within months of picking up mental math, Aaryan was already outpacing expectations, and by age 8, he was competing on the international stage.

Guinness World Records describes him as a young prodigy capable of solving complex calculations entirely in his head sans any calculator, scratch paper or shortcuts.

From Local Talent to Global Champion

Aaryan's gift didn't stay confined to Nashik for long. His skills took him across the globe, to competitions in Germany, Italy, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE,  pitting him against some of the sharpest minds in mental arithmetic.

In 2022, at just 12 years old, he claimed the title at the Mental Calculation World Cup in Germany. Two years later, in 2024, he did it again, proving his first win was not just a stroke of luck.

Six World Records. One Day.

If winning a world championship twice sounds impressive, what came next was on another level entirely.

In 2025, at age 14, Aaryan walked into an event in Dubai and walked out with six Guinness World Records and all in a single day. The records spanned mental addition, multiplication, and division. The outstanding feature that caught attention globally was his mental addition of 100 four-digit numbers and 50 five-digit numbers in just 30.9 seconds.

Most of us would still be looking for a pen in that time span!

What's Actually Happening Inside His Head?

Mental calculation isn't just about memorizing formulas. Competitors have to absorb long strings of numbers at speed, hold them in memory, and perform the math; all without any external aid. It's a blend of memory, focus, and raw calculation speed working in perfect sync.

Even Aaryan himself can't fully explain how it happens. He describes it as something that just occurs naturally now as a product of years of relentless practice rather than a trick he consciously performs.

More Than Just a Math Whiz

For all his record-breaking feats, Aaryan isn't defined solely by numbers. Outside of competitions, he's a fairly typical teenager investing his time in reading, playing cricket, and enjoying football like any other 16-year-old.

But even his downtime has purpose. Aaryan is a founding member of the Global Mental Calculators Association, where he advocates for mental calculation as a discipline and pushes for greater access to STEM education for young learners.
