FDs via Coin App

Users will soon be able to open fixed deposits directly through the Coin app, without needing a savings account with the same bank.

The platform will initially offer FDs from Suryoday and Unity Small Finance Banks, known for competitive interest rates.

Minimum Investment & Benefits

Investors can start with as little as ₹1,000, with options to invest in multiples of ₹1.

Senior citizens will receive additional interest benefits—0.4% on Suryoday FDs and 0.5% on Unity FDs.

Blostem Partnership

The FD feature is being launched in collaboration with Blostem, which has already raised close to $1 million from investors including AC Ventures, Mobikwik, and Delhivery founder Kapil Bharti.

Zerodha’s investment arm, Rainmatter Capital, is expected to lead a fresh funding round in Blostem to support the rollout.

User Experience & Accessibility

The Coin app will include an FD calculator, allowing users to compare returns and select tenure easily.

Required documents include PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
