16 Check-Posts Installed in Yamunanagar to Prevent Illegal Mining

The Haryana Mines and Geology Department has stepped up the fight against illegal mining in Yamunanagar district. As part of a strong enforcement drive, 16 check-posts have been installed to check and prevent illegal mining operations. The district has witnessed 123 vehicles being impounded and 116 FIRs lodged for illegal mining during January and February 2025. Drones and sophisticated technology are being employed by officials for detection. A recent check in Bhagwanpur village resulted in a fine of Rs 65,37,732 for illegal mining on 2 acres. The department is conducting regular checks throughout Haryana to preserve natural resources and prevent illegal mining.
