A Bond of Knowledge: India and Nepal Strengthen Ties on 60th ITEC (Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation ) Day!

The Embassy of India in Kathmandu commemorated the 60th Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day on March 21, 2025, highlighting six decades of India's commitment to global capacity building. The event showcased India's dedication to sharing its developmental experiences with friendly nations, including Nepal. Since its inception in 1964, ITEC has trained over 200,000 officials from more than 160 countries in various fields. Nepal has particularly benefited, with over 2,000 professionals receiving training since 2007. The program offers nearly 10,000 fully-funded training opportunities annually across 400 courses at 100+ prestigious Indian institutions. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, ITEC adapted by providing online training to nearly 10,000 professionals. The celebration underscored the program's role in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering human resource development in Nepal.
