A National Tribute: Fadnavis Advocates for Shivaji Maharaj Memorial in Delhi

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for the establishment of a national memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Delhi. Speaking on the 345th death anniversary of the Maratha warrior king, Fadnavis emphasized Shivaji Maharaj’s enduring legacy as a unifier of diverse communities and a symbol of Hindavi Swarajya.  

Fadnavis assured that the Maharashtra government is committed to completing the legal battle for the construction of the Shivaji Maharaj Smarak in the Arabian Sea. He also pledged to introduce legislation to address any acts of disrespect toward the Maratha king, underscoring the importance of preserving his legacy for future generations.  

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who attended the event, echoed Fadnavis’s sentiments, highlighting Shivaji Maharaj’s vision of unity and resilience. Shah described the Maratha king as a beacon of hope during a time of foreign dominance, whose ideals continue to inspire the nation.  

The proposed memorial in Delhi aims to honor Shivaji Maharaj’s contributions to India’s history and serve as a national symbol of his values and achievements.
