A Planned Tomorrow: J&K's Satellite Townships Take Shape

Jammu and Kashmir will come up with almost a dozen satellite townships to counter unorganized urban growth. The government has marked large land tracts in Srinagar and Jammu for these projects, with a view to offer organized housing and infrastructure. The project is in line with other urban development initiatives, such as the Smart Integrated Satellite Township on the Jammu Ring Road, which is grappling with issues of high land cost. The townships will assist in organizing urban growth in a sustainable manner, managing environmental and social issues related to quick urbanization.
