Affordable Healthcare Wins: Malaysia & Thailand Outshine Singapore in Medical Tourism

Singapore's medical tourism sector is experiencing increased competition from neighboring Malaysia and Thailand. Thailand leads the region with medical tourism revenue of $850 million, while Malaysia follows with $444 million. In contrast, Singapore's revenue is estimated at $270 million.  This shift is attributed to the more affordable healthcare services offered by Malaysia and Thailand, making them attractive destinations for medical tourists. To remain competitive, Singapore is focusing on specialized and complex medical procedures, targeting patients seeking advanced treatments.
