AI to the Rescue: Apollo Hospitals' Innovative Staff Workload Solution

Apollo Hospital in India is stepping up investments in artificial intelligence (AI) to ease the burden of doctors and nurses. The hospital has plans to replace mundane tasks such as medical report writing with automation, employing AI to scan through electronic medical reports for diagnosis and treatment suggestions. The move looks to liberate two to three hours of their time every day, making efficiency and stress free. Apollo has invested 3.5% of its digital budget in AI for the last two years and will step up this investment. The step is essential since the hospital has a 25% nurse attrition rate, which is likely to reach 30% by the end of fiscal 2025. Other Indian hospitals are also turning to AI to enhance diagnostic precision and reduce red tape.
