APAAR+ Mission Records 2.68 Crore Students, Targets Full Digital Integration By June

The Yogi Adityanath government has rolled out the APAAR+ mission to digitally track every student in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative aims to integrate 4.24 crore students across government, aided, and private schools into a unified digital platform, with over 2.68 crore already enrolled as of May 2026.

On April 11, 2026, Uttar Pradesh launched the APAAR+ (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) mission, a statewide campaign to digitise student records. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the initiative seeks to ensure that no child is left outside the education system while enabling real-time monitoring of academic progress, attendance, and performance.

How The System Works

Under APAAR+, each student is assigned a unique digital ID linked with Aadhaar, consolidating enrollment details, attendance, class progression, examination results, and achievements into a secure lifelong academic record. This ensures seamless continuity of data even if a student changes schools, eliminating risks of data loss and fake enrollments.

Progress So Far

By May 18, 2026, over 2.68 crore students (63% of the target) had been integrated into the system. Government schools have achieved 82% coverage, aided institutions 74.84%, private schools 50.54%, and other categories 46.97%. The campaign runs until June 30, 2026, with saturation camps held every Saturday to accelerate enrollment.

Officials highlight that APAAR+ will:
Enable real-time monitoring of student attendance and performance.
Detect dropout patterns and prevent fake enrollments.
Streamline processes like scholarship distribution, school transfers, and admissions.
Provide policymakers with accurate data for resource allocation and targeted interventions.
Strengthen transparency and accountability in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
