Banking on Ambition: HSBC India's Bold Bid for Transaction Supremacy

HSBC India has charted out its aggressive plans to become the region's number one transaction bank. In a recent interview, CEO Hitendra Dave charted out the bank's strategy to leverage its global network and product strength to take a bigger slice of the market. HSBC already handles 11-12% of India's exports and 18-20% of foreign direct investment in India. The bank is looking to expand its branch network, build digital capabilities, and expand its wealth management business. With a growth target of 1.5-1.8 times India's nominal GDP, HSBC is well placed to leverage the country's growth and rising international trade.
