Banks' Q4 Treasury Gains Can Get ₹4,000 Crore Boost from OMOs

 India's banking industry is likely to get a big fillip in treasury gains in the fourth quarter from the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) open market operations (OMOs). RBI's move to infuse liquidity through OMOs is likely to give banks an additional gain of about ₹4,000 crore.

This growth is a relief of sorts for the banking sector, which has been going through tough market times. The enhanced treasury revenues will enable banks to build their capital base and aid lending businesses.
