Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway: Your 75-Minute Ticket to Speed, Comfort, and Progress

Commuters on the Bengaluru–Mysuru route are reveling in a new era of connectivity as the 119-km Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway has reduced travel time from a grueling 3.5 hours to a dash of 75–90 minutes. This six-lane, access-controlled wonder, opened in 2023, combines brownfield renovations with greenfield bypasses, providing a smooth drive that avoids key bottlenecks such as Bidadi, Ramanagara-Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya, and Srirangapatna.

Built at a price of more than ₹8,000 crore under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the expressway boasts world-class infrastructure: several overpasses and underpasses, service roads, and completely fenced carriageways for security. Toll gates, now with electronic collection systems installed, facilitate easy movement of traffic, and in the offing is an innovative satellite-based toll system that will further ease congestion.

With its 100 km/h speed limit, visitors can look forward to a pleasant, efficient trip—assuming, of course, that they factor in the new 3–5% toll increase.
