Bengaluru Taps into Excellence: First City to Get BIS Certification

Bengaluru has emerged as the first city in India to be BIS-certified for piped water supply. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) attained this honor following a comprehensive six-month evaluation by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The certification applies to all areas of water management, from supply to distribution, to assure compliance with international water quality standards. This accreditation has emphasized Bengaluru's dedication to offering its citizens safe and clean drinking water. The Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar commended the feat as a reflection of sustainable urban growth.
